Predictable Results

The Council may be a little embarrassed at having to rebuff the Irish in order to stand by their belief niche flags shouldn't supplant the official flags flying at City Hall.

Well, look at the policy as stated in the cover memo to the resolution....It states policy is a member of the public can request a resolution be drawn to allow their flag.....So something gets put on the agenda without a lawmaker asking for it. This is the result.

The policy should be no niche flags, but if it is to be allowed on a case by case basis, a Council Member should demand a resolution be drawn or propose it from the floor.....Once its in the agenda the issue is framed without a consensus...Hence last night...

Remember when I said as a Jets fan I was going to request a resolution be drawn to fly the Jets flag on Joe Namath's birthday....Should that result in a resolution being drafted and put on the docket?  No, of course not.

So when this comes up next month for Pride Day or later for Juneteenth, I presume a member of the public will ask a resolution be drawn and then its game on again. Council should change the policy at the next meeting back to no niche flags. Period.

Maybe that's why the three voted for it, they knew there was an "out" in the law. But maybe I'm giving them too much credit about actually knowing that much about law.
What has happened with the Milly tapes? Seems like it's being quietly swept under the rug.

Pass a resolution that doesn't allow flag requests.

No need to vote on them all.

Fly the flags, do not be pressured by unemployed drifter racists. This is America, live and let live, it’s a flag for Christ sakes, who gives a shit. Don’t look at it if you go by. People need to mind their own business and when they live in glass houses, don’t throw stones. Stupid bigot ass holes.

Why the Irish Flag Matters Specifically

St. Patrick’s Day isn’t fringe identity politics — it’s a mainstream civic celebration with deep roots in American history.

Irish Americans built railroads, fought in wars, staffed police and fire departments, and shaped local government.

Rejecting the flag isn’t just saying “no to a request.”
It reads as indifference toward heritage traditions that have long been publicly recognized.

Especially in a city that previously hosted an Irish festival.

I was just going to suggest we need a flat earth flag flown on earth day. Just so the aliens will know where the dummy lives.

The OP seems more worried about a police, and council coverup.
Seems you’re the one thinking about someone else’s wife. Most likely your a democrat, who are all mentally ill deviants.
