Local Government Withers

Jim Wright got reelected Town Supervisor with  write ins as no one ran..,In Montague, there is no Supervisor come January 1, as no one ran and no write-ins.

Are these constructs of local government sustainable...Some think not but who wants these posts and who cares what town they live in ?   In the Town of Pinckney the incumbent highway super agreed to another two years, but there's no one else interested....They pay him $41K and the Supervisor gets $6500...

The Wag managed to keep his Village of Chaumont in tact. According to Claud there have been four referendums since 1993 and it came closest to dissolving last time. But the trend reversed Tuesday and it easily was defeated.
