Councilman Shoen said he had been shown "the numbers" from the golf course. And he told me at best half the tee box signs were sold....If all the law firms, consultants, engineering firms bought a sign all 18 would be taken,

Councilman Shoen and the others work under the idea of out of site out of mind and that is what they want to do with the course, and there is nothing we can do about them letting go of control and gifting it, oh I mean leasing it to another person, absolutely ridiculous! It is time for them to go, and a strong form of government take over.
You complain about having to donate to get a Christmas parade yet think businesses should have to donate to the golf course and disguise the donation as if it’s advertising. What is amazing is that you were educated in journalism school, worked at a number of media companies yet apparently have no concept of how advertising is priced and evaluated.
The city’s latest brilliant revenue strategy: sell a few tee boxes at the golf course and pretend they’ve solved the budget crisis. That ought to cover the deficit for about five minutes. What a joke—when you’re desperate enough to sell tee boxes and call it fiscal management, you’ve officially run out of ideas.
