Based on the primary results, looked like Democrats selected an extremist, and gave Republicans an excellent chance to flip a Senate seat red - something desperately needed in order to retain control of the Senate. Most forget that while Republicans lost control of the House of Representatives in the 2018 midterms, Trump’s party actually gained 2 Senate seats. Doesn’t seem likely this time as Trump’s recent policy actions almost seem designed to hurt Republican candidates. Maybe the decision by Rogers to separate himself from Trump on the Putin betrayal will help in Michigan, but the MAGA ship is sinking. Even in Texas, thanks to Trump’s decision to replace a popular and long term Republican with what may the most corrupt politician in Texas (a very competitive title) because he pledged to be 100% MAGA.
