For Sale

This week there's an auction to put the former Morrison's Furniture in the hands of someone new...The starting bid is $150K...

Hard to say what the building could be used for and like any one building it surely needs roof, HVAC and elevators.....Then there is the build out...,

Do the economic developers have any ideas or will this end up another dark of night demolition.?

I heard last night that Jacob is on-board if he can nail down enough grants to cover 90%, I'd not the entirety.

Another NFP will buy it. Free drug needles for everyone.

I once saw a building like this converted into an indoor multi floor mountain bike course but there isn’t enough demand here

It sure is strange how people are attracted to old bricks. The building is a piece of shit. The easiest thing to do with it is more that antique shop bullshit or flea market bullshit.

Another good opportunity is for furniture sales. But nowadays, everybody that drives on Factory Street rents their furniture they don’t buy it.

Another good opportunity is just dry storage. Massey furniture barn or someplace like that that needs storage.

Hopefully, no one tries to make us partners in it. Unfortunately, that is the most popular way of repurposing historic buildings …is to bring in taxpayers as the money suppliers.

JJ will buy it with the promise to renovate it.

Then she'll let it slowly disintegrate, and finally the city will pay to raze it and add it to her taxes which she can't afford to pay.

The 80 year old owner seems delusional, she’s the one that refused to fix it up correct? And she now seems to want to dictate who can bid and what goes into the building? While the price is not crazy they will be lucky if anyone bids to that opening bid, and if they do take the money. That’s a non functional building with no heat and probably needs 100k of code work.

It’s her action, she can decide who can bid.
The asking price is probably less than half of what it will fetch.

Expect a legit lawsuit if someone is denied taking part in the bidding, 6:58.
