A DPW Superintendent is expected to be named next month, but one thing is certain The person will not be a city resident and likely will be the current acting Super, Karen Overton.
The CM will name the person but will not be consulting with Council……The Manager is currently out of country, according to the Times. Council can decide whether the deputy position be filled and may do so to get ahead of budget woes.Nine people have applied but only two are said qualified.
One other area they will have to, help address is who to cut if the City no longer has to maintain the golf course.
Wonder what country he is in ?

Hopefully it’s someone smart enough not to get people killed through gross negligence. That’s one place where appointing a check is helpful because by their nature, they are more cautious. If she doesn’t want it, they could hire a fighter queen. Safety at all costs for those guys… except when they choose where to live.
He said only two applicants are qualified. Could be somebody from Drum but likely the woman. Council has no role in anything so they will not be consulted, and no positions will be eliminated. This is none of your business.
