Cutting Ties

The Town of Watertown has formally cut ties with the people who peddled to Town leaders the notion of a $100M events center on land off Route 3 west of the City,

Townies  still face litigation from developer Mike Lundy who had parlayed his land into road and infrastructure improvements for a proposed AG Park.

This boondoggle...the city purchase of the gold course and the county dalliance with the solar guy rank as primae examples of the local yokels being lambs led to slaughter.

It is the taxpayers who are betrayed by Joel and Cliff and forced to unjustly enrich developers. It costs those dopes nothing personally other than what little reputation they had. So I’d hardly say they are sheep it’s the taxpayers who get slaughtered.
I was trying to understand how the Watertown Trust was involved then I realized the Times made an error using that name and there is another LDC started by Joel and headed by him. AI search of meeting minutes could not find where the town authorized the creation or why it was done. Nor why it was named 1000 islands local development.
That seems to be the common vehicle for funneling taxpayer money to developers. Maybe Cliff and Lisa should have started the Great Lakes LDC and just given it $5 million seed money. That way no one could FOIL how much money they spent closing down another course to reduce competition and inflate profits or even the inflated purchase price itself.
