So. The City workers get a benefit package in addition to wages and that has considerable cost and value. Also the Council Member is welcome to seek the City renegotiating its CBAs.
It's common for some, particularly in public sector jobs, to dismiss fast food workers as "burger flippers" who don't deserve good pay.....Well, if you show up and do your job well, shouldn't you make a fair wage.
And trying to compare public and private sector jobs is a slippery slope if you know what I mean.

If that’s the case, it’s tragic. Fast food prep at a Taco Bell is challenging, but there are very few safety issues. DPW workers could easily be killed anytime they step out a vehicle, and actually every time they get in a work vehicle.
