The State of New York is bragging the Lottery generated $5B for education,....That's always the rationale for the benefit of virtue signaling politicians...Actually Lottery, like fishing licenses or traffic fines is a revenue to the state that is spent by the Legislature as they see fit...In educating that is primarily through aid formulas.
The State is missing out on more revenue by giving away to the private sector such lucrative things like pull tabs, queen of hearts drawings, video slots that can now be anywhere, sports gambling...I know someone who was addicted to those cell phone slots until they were blocked in NY....Open 'em up...more money for the children....errrrr..excuse me, the administrators.
