I work with some of these idiots, can’t afford shit but show up every day at the morning meeting with a huge desert type “coffee” it’s not even coffee it is mostly sugar. Wallet gets smaller and waist gets bigger.

It's very likely that driving a 2006 sedan like the article mentions is actually a pretty bad decision. That's just one of many bad pieces of advice plenty of people give which doesn't help people build wealth. You CAN go overboard living frugally. What's the point of being a millionaire if you have to pray your car is going to start when you turn the key? That's something many have to struggle with as we build wealth. Most of the top 10% get there by being frugal but what's the point if you keep living like a college kid in 1980? People like Dave Ramsey go overboard telling people to live in a cardboard box just like people go overboard bashing college.
And plenty of people refuse to believe the two are related. They just make excuses to remain poor...
