Canceling the Christmas Parade has no consequence in 2026....Imagine the days of newspaper editorials how this would have been treated....But there is no conscience of the community anymore..,,.
Back in the day, Gorman would have excoriated the Mayor over nixing the parade on the premise their kid needn't be out in the snow and cold.
Now Councilman Shoen want to save the former Ashkar's Market on Flower Avenue East.... He will be ignored but he wants time spend on that but wants us to raise money for the Christmas Parade...

With many dumb things said by the current mayor, this statement about not wanting her and the child in the cold is the worst. Why do you live in Northern NY? It’s cold! Duh. So stay inside for 6 months a year. OMG. Should they cancel the Macys Thanksgiving Parade because of cold? Obviously she will never attend. Statements like this says it all about her business and life acumen. She has none.
God forbid the private sector pitch in. All they do is bitch and whine like the union-hating city residents.
Ben can cancel all the parades and fire all the lowly csea workers he wants to, but it won't make a difference. Until he tackles, the big budget issues like police and fire.

C way is not a good location and the buildings are very dated. Besides, it shows how fortunate the city is to have the extra acreage, buildings and equipment. Everyone knows the city would make more money if they ran the restaurant and bar themselves. That is what they should do.
