This Micron plant sounds more and more like it will happen, but all these estimates on impact, especially far away from Clay, may be over done… Talk of big increases in school enrollment may be premature…. Most districts are down and can accommodate newcomers.
Here in Jefferson, they talk of impact and there, will be some, but nothing that can’t be absorbed through the private sector. Be wary of those selling what isn’t there? Solar plant anyone?

It will have about as much impact up here on our local economy as did the solar eclipse. Let’s over prepare and make 2000 sandwiches to feed all the workers.
The plant will be a boon for the local area and our country. Thank you Joe Biden.
You’re delusional.
Micron is building a $100 billion semiconductor complex in Clay, but somehow Watertown has already claimed a piece of the economic spotlight. Must be one hell of a long extension cord.”
So let’s get this straight: Clay gets the plant, Central New York gets the jobs, Micron gets the investment, Biden supposedly gets the credit. Politics really is the gift that keeps on giving.
I drive down route 31 toward Baldwinsville regularly and you can see the progress. It is definitely happening.
Having driven thru the snow belt in the winter between Adams and Central Square, I would caution workers that are not used to the weather to stay closer so I am not sure what impact it might have on our housing and schools.
5:05, the Chips Act, bro. Try to keep up with current events, N-K‼️
5:17 that was passed by a Republican Congress I believe. Thank them.
