Polling done by a known firm in NY 21 has predictable results. In the likely GOP primary, Anthony Constantino polls well ahead of Assemblyman Robert Smullen. Constantino’s bid last year and commercials give him much higher recognition.
The primary is four months away, and it appears Sticker Mule will prevail. He needs the C line,too and that could be tricky but the White House will likely weigh in there.
The Dem race is out of the news of late, but there is a primary there too.

NY21 by all rights should remain a “solid red” district and is still rated as R+10. The midterms are however shaping up to be a difficult year for the GOP nationally, and having an uninspiring candidate for Governor at the top of the ticket won’t help. Constantino has the definite edge in the upcoming primary, but better start looking forward to the general election. He needs to consolidate Republican support, gather in the Conservative line, and make an effort to appeal to Independent voters. As it stands, his campaign strategy consists almost solely of emphasizing his MAGA credentials - and remaining as stubborn as a real mule.
If Gendebien can distance himself from the leftist extremism of many of his Democrat colleagues, and run a strategic campaign portraying himself as the moderate alternative, will at a minimum be an “interesting” race.
