MGV readers learned this weeks ago...Not that I am a journalist but I pay attention and keep an ear to the ground. Former Troop B Commander Brent Davison will be the Republican candidate in the upcoming special election for AD 115, the only NNY district held until recently by a Democrat.
Nice retirement income for this retired Major from the SP...Thirty years. But taxpayers will save on health benefits unless the Assembly has one of those deals where if you are on a government plan, you can't paid for the equivalent value. Brent Davison was also a former CO and a National Guardsman.
Davison got the GOP nod when a revolt arose against the Malone Mayor Andrea Dumas who was the state party's choice.
Demorat Michael Cashman is the Democratic hope to succeed Assembly Member Billy Jones who retired to state another guvmint job.
The story appeared here first when the Clinton County GOP Committee backed Davison for this special election and they control the process in the three county 115th AD. Proof that in the modern age you have to look at a variety of news sources to be informed.

Just within the last few years you were making fun of young people who don’t buy newspapers or watch local news at 6 PM and calling them ill informed. Now you seem to be implying you are on the cutting edge of digital media and people better get on board.
Oh wow, what a glow-up — from scolding people for not reading the classifieds to suddenly being the self-declared prophet of the digital age. Next thing we know, you’ll be launching a TikTok course on “How to Stay Informed Like a Boomer Turned Influencer.
