WDT: Sex abuse charges get tossed for DA’s failure to prosecute

Another Mary Rain story...This one a dismissed case due to tardy prosecution.  Now it's hard to know if these things happen all over and just don't get reported.....In fact, as a former reporter, I know there are lots of arrests that get reported when they happen but nobody ever reports on the disposition.
As for Mary Rain, it seems the wolves are gathering at the door as she will become the symbol of  flawed prosecutors everywhere...That way the lawyers can say they policed themselves and get back to business.

This is serious.. This investigation has gone on long enough.. We need someone to answer for her shortcommings.. Innocent people are being denied justice. Guilty people are walking free.. Our judge has done his job and our legislators have done their job and now our legal agency for the state doing the investigation or the governors office to do theirs.
Patty Ritchie, Ken Blankenbush and Addie Russell need to step up and demand results immediately from the State or this inept DA is just going to keep our opinion of justice at a all time low.
Its time we steped up and its time our local officals stepped up and did their job. Call them or Email them.. Make them accountable.

What a disaster. Reminiscent of our City Manager, Mary Rain has absolutely no clue what she is doing.

The prosecutor argued the six month clock stops and is replaced with a new three month clock, one the day the court ordered charges be reduced from felony to misdemeanor. But the court decision doesn't seem to address that point.

Either way, Perrykos should be happy. I mean obviously there is no proof this guy is guilty, or they wouldn't have reduced the charges. So we might as well set 100 guilty murderers free than convict anyone ever. I mean after all, one in bazillion chance of innocence is still reasonable doubt.

1004.. What a comment. Our city manager is held in high esteem from most of the council and certainly a very high majority of the taxpayers. Obviously she dosnt please the (leaches) firedepartment or the people who rely on that money for their living.
The way we see it she is saving our city from going under by implementing procedures not dicatated by the union.

Doesn't matter Nicole Duve will be the next County Court Judge.

Everyone waiting for Jerry Richards to go away like a bad dream.

Mary Rain would make an excellent judge to replace Richards.

St Lawrence county needs to bring NEW BLOOD to both the DA office and the Judiciary . This decade long embarrassment needs to end at the next election . SLC Is a laughing stock among the professions .

I think Ms. Rain is on her way out. Would not be surprised if she resigns in the next few weeks and Mr. Cositore takes over till the election.
