WDT: Ode to Herrings

The tiny and very sleep Village of Herrings (90 residents) could probably fade away with little notice but those goo-goo (good government) types who keep calling for dissolution are kidding themselves if they think doing so is a blow for much economy.
Goodness, the amount spent on studies and agencies looking into dissolution is possibly more than the thinly staffed municipality costs for a decade.
Probably one assistant superintendent for diversity costs more than the entire village, so the economy of dissolution likely is minimal, although if no one wants to hold village office, getting rid of it may be OK on that basis.
With 61 registered voters and a quarter of them turning out, folks at a modest backyard picnic could produce a landslide.
