Watertown's Former Five-Term Mayor Offers His Take on Life in the North Country and Beyond
Get rid of the city engineering staff. They seem incapable of doing anything. Why have them? Are we running a jobs program for the people in that department? I'd go for eliminating that department and giving the savings to the fire queens.
Engineering a highway system is a unique function, and most likely does require some special knowledge that day to day engineering may not provide. Mr. Wood is a very knowledgeable person and his staff is competent as well. Projects that are using outside funds often require special oversight and this one is really no different. Bart is way too quick to criticize, and is just full of hate and condemnation of nearly everything. I have to ask, what is so wrong in your life that you have such hatred for everything and everybody? You are not even a city resident and I resent the way you throw stones at every city employee. Aside from these special projects, there is plenty of day to day work that takes place and gets done without any fanfare or problems. You don't hear about it because it just gets done. You should really try being more positive it will benefit your health in the long-run.
I can't believe they are using the same outfit that is massacring factory street. That outfit dragged it's feet forever and now is just slapping everything together to get it done for another big pay day. City Manager must think they are doing a good job. What world is she living on?
Well look at the city engineer. I suppose he has a nice diploma hanging on his wall but has he ever engineered anything bigger than a birdhouse?
I agree with 11:04.There was some work being done on my street, and I called Mr Wood to discuss an issue with him,and he was very accommodating in giving forth the information or what was going to happen and what I could expect.Money is well spent on that fellow doing his job for the city.
I guess the Addison likes department head, so he is in good standing with her.
