WDT: Times Locked Out of Presser

After endorsing her and not running the champaign photo they had (betcha we see it now), the WDT found itself banned from Mary Rain's post trial presser. That's their take at least.
This is an unusual move since the Times is the only local paper, although many other news outlets did cover the trial of Oral Hillary.
As a sitting DA holding a press conference on a major public event and holding it in a public building, it was of course a petulent move by Ms. Rain, who is obviously chagrined and frustrated by this latest setback in her three year tenure in office.
She shouldn't have bothered to hold a presser as there's little more to add to the acquittal of Mr. Hillary other than the usual prosecutor contempt for losing.
And the solace is she gets paid $3500 this week, win or lose.

I love how she called the reporter and the Times "dishonest. Thats rich coming from a DA who hides witnesses from the defense, and then lies about it.

801.. She lied to the Grand Jury on the first indictment. She lied numerous times during the entire affair. She with-held evidence at least three times and didnt produce potential evidence on other occassions.
The real liar in this case has been John Jones. He is a career liar. I read that during the trial he was questioned and gave a smart answer to Hillarys attorney about what he had done was not a crime... BS. What he did back then in the ninetys while working for Sheriff Knowlton was on his off time got intoxicated. Got in his truck intoxicated to go somewhere and had an accident.. He ran from the scene home where he placed a call to the State Police and reported his truck stolen.. After an investigation of the affair the State Police charged him with DWI, leaving the scene, falsely reporting an accident and some other charges..THEY ARE ALL CRIMES.. I dont know what he eventually plead to or how this was resolved. Probably to a charge that nothing more than a fine was paid...
This does not mean he did not committ a crime. He was called into the office by Sheriff Knowlton and allowed to resign or be fired and he chose resignation. Somehow, he was able to work back into the law enforcement field over the years and eventually hired back at the Sheriffs dept. Sheriff Wells used very poor judgement in re-hiring this person.
His answer to the lawyer in this case was splitting hairs as to it wasnt a crime...

Press conference in public building and by a public official and she bans the press with a silly-ass "invite only" excuse ...!! GMAFB.

Rain has to be removed from public office any legal way possible.

Danny, as usual, we have to ask, "what in the hell are you talking about?" She did not "ban the press", as you say, she merely left one left wing dishonest newspaper off the invite list. There were many others who were invited.

What does it being a public building have to do with anything? If she uses a public restroom, does she have to invite everyone with her?

You don't seem to understand what a "public official" is. She simply exercised her authority as a public official, as is her right and duty to do. Ha ha ha !!!

Only Skankboy could attempt to defend the indefensible.

Rain is incompetent. Derelict. Inept. Pick an adjective...

The first amendment says we have the freedom of the press and freedom of speech. It does not say that a publc official can pick and choose who she wants to come to a press conference. As a public official, Rain does not have this right. The press and the people who elected Rain have the right and obligation to criticize public officials. She may not agree what the WDT has to say, but they have every right to print the truth and she needs to respect this. I have worked in the public sector for over 20 years and I think the WDT has always been fair in their reporting. You may not like what they print, but if it is true and accurate, you cannot complain. They are doing their job.
