When I first read of the Elsie the Cow comment by Ernie LaBaff caught on video as a mucaca moment by a GOP tracker, I dismissed it as the not really funny rants of a doddering old man too many times told how important he is in the Democratic Party. I would have just made light of the remark than blast it.
Of course Democrats view Mr. LaBaff as a politically muscular blue collar icon.
However when you view the comment in the context of the Democratic Party's intolerance of such things, it has more meaning. Imagine if a Trump surrogate referred to Mrs. Clinton as a cow. It would be a full 48 hour news cycle of outrage and getting reaction from the Speaker, Senator McCain and Lindsey Graham, as well as excoriation from Mika's Brigade.
In this case it was at a Mike Derrick rally and the candidate didn't refute it, but why should he...as he was among supporters ,save the tracker. He later apologized.
Unfortunately, people are tired of PC and feigned outrage, so maybe my original inclination was correct. It's not that big a deal other than it shows we are too sensitive these days and need to toughen up.
One media note. I wonder what age you have to be to remember Elsie the Cow ? A photo would be a good aspect for these stories.
