WDT: Here Comes SG Gates.....Again.

He may get a news story as that's what he does best, but SG Gates will likely not entice Council to reopen the issue of a dog park. Interest faded after the last go around, and Mr. Gates new bid to get Council to designate a spot in Thompson Park will likely sputter. No one wants to get into that briar patch again.

Now that the god awful inappropriate located monument is in the center of the park, it would be just as appropriate to fence it off and let Fido and the rest of the city k-9 go in there to do their business and have their way with it.

Sounding like the excitable Floyd the barber from the old Mayberry TV show aside, Gates' constant droning on and on about this, despite being denied part and parcel is wearing very thin.

If he could persuade anyone of substance, or anyone other than himself for that matter this project might stand a good chance of being successful.
No one wants to jump on the bandwagon when it is being driven by one who seems to be a few bricks short of a full load.

We need a dog park like we need another increase in property taxes. Everyone should channel their energy in cleaning up the area in front of their homes and mowing your darn lawn if you want the city to look cleaner.

12:39, thanks for reminding me about Floyd the Barber. That brings back great memories. Thank you, Sir.

@ 7:49 AM

Great idea, and we would have a dog park, and saved money too, as there are already benches. All it needs is a water source.
This awful pile of stones would be at least useful for some part of the city population aka Families and their dogs.
I already watched a dog with a leg up on this so called monument. What a good dog.
Thankfully dogs do not have to be politically correct or have to lick the behind of the military. so they can express what they think of this stone hill.
The money wasted on this pile could have been better spend to actually help living combat Veterans who gave there health for this country or for the people of the city of Watertown who have to put up with some self absorbed feel important higher Ex military, who took over a nice part of the park.

So again @ 7:49 AM I support your idea

I have decided to be a Nihilist this time around. I won't even think about caring about it. Let the fences fly. Let the Devil have his fill.

Too funny the same two guys that hate the monument are still bitching. Now they want to join hands with the dog park guy, hoping it gets turned into a bare muddy spot, fenced in with chain link, with dog turds all round.Click your heels three times dummies, and see if it takes place, lol.
