WRVO- Electoral Mandate in Hand, Oswego's Tyro Takes Charge

Oswego's new mayor has a mandate for change and the ability to do something.  Mayor Billy Barlow has issued an executive order to reduce FD overtime and has proposed a budget with major changes. Of course this new GOP mayor has the power to do so under mayoral control,
There is of course the check and balance of Common Council, but the new mayor seems to understand he must use his mandate soon and make change, and not wait for permission from a bureacracy committed to the way it is.
The mayor is certainly one with a political future and was honored recently as an up and coming GOP figure.
You have to look at him as one possible successor to Senator Patty Ritchie when she retires. Councilman Mark Walczyk has also been thought to be on that track, and his strong stance on the landlord law is evidence of that positioning.

How is this guy a replacement for pAddie Ritchie? She never met a dollar she didn't want to spend. she never met a union she didn't want to give tax dollars to. she never met a pension padder she didn't want to embrace.

6:59 You are misinformed, Watertown does not do overtime that way and has not for 30 years or more. Please know your facts before making false statements
