Wednesday Stuff

The City of Watertown has received  a $2.3M grant for its water system. The release from the Governor says there are also over six million dollars in loans.     It is part of $29.7M in grants throughout the North Country.
Police in NYC were able to grab the climber on Trump Tower.  The two hour saga ended when the man was corners by a scaffold and  a window removed by police.
Great dinner hour drama though, Only CNN was live when he was grabbed.....What are they thinking on the other nets ?
Record (we assume) heat continues with no end in sight. Just hope my A/C holds out till October.
A new Bloomberg Poll has the Clinton margin at six points. I think the post convention bump is over.

What ever happened to that Human Resource manager dust up? Did the city end up giving that guy a new title and an extra $16,000? Can't fix a water-fountain or do road work at night, but they can take care of their own. disgusting...

I think I saw the new water czar today when I was at city hall earlier paying my bill. My goodness she is tiny. Looked like she would go 65 pounds soaking wet. By the way, it was so conjested there today with the farmers market. I wish they would move that to the fairgrounds where they have room!!

Here's a welcome wed tid bit for you.
Heard earlier this evening that a very prominent local businessman is exploring a run for city council next go around. Also being discussed is the possibility of him teaming with another to run for both seats as a team. He cites the lack of leadership and complete inability for common sense problem solving as main planks of his possible run. Said that it is time to clean house and put the future of the city first, and put an end to petty personal battles that divide. Should be very interesting...

Here's another tid bit: heard the City Clerk's husband got a job with DPW. Guess he got the spot over someone who worked his way up. No car dealership anymore?

Pray tell, 11:34, is this someone new to the race? Hoping someone with some foresight will run that will bring a fresh approach to getting things done in Watertown.

What "petty personal battles" are dividing? This council seems to get along quite well.

This "businessman" already sounds like he has no clue. He'd better do his homework.

How about the city manager fight with the fire dept. that is costing the city hundreds of thousands of tax payer dollars in legal fees. council must think she is doing fine, they just renewed her contract. you call that good judgment?

What are the petty personal battles? I shudder to guess which "prominent businessman" portends to rescue us.
