WDT: Grand Juty Lets Perp-Walked Guards Off Hook on Felonies

Remember those three prison guards hauled to jail on felony charges for doing what likely always goes on.......Fudging their time cards and filing for a full day's pay even if they finished up a training day early.
The felony charges never survived the grand jury and we all know grand juries indict who they are told to.
There was always something curious about this case. So often these things are billed as an "internal" matter. The trio will face misdemeanor charges in town court.
Wouldn't you normally get fired for something like this ? Or reprimanded in some other way.

Yes, it would be very unusual to file criminal charges in a case like this.
I never heard that Grand Jury's indict whoever they are told to, I only heard about the ham sandwich. I figure this means in the jury's eyes, these guys are are less guilty than a ham sandwich.

My perception is that there are very few people who have had training at work, who did not get out of their training early and still get paid. This is without a doubt a management problem, not a criminal problem.

Correctional Officers work " Double Shifts " as a way of life in every week to get all the time off they can get. What's the BIG DEAL ?
Until there was a prison escape, nobody knew they were there.

This is the way life is in prison.. Do what you want, hurt who you want, show up to work when you want and your corrupt union and its corrupt officers protect you... How many guards got in real hot water during the Danamora escape? How many got in trouble in Ogdensburg beatings?? The only chance to clean this system out is for the news media to keep on the issue..
Your assumption about grand juries is correct. Politcally a DA who tries could convict a peanut butter sandwich.. Richard Manning in SLC could have convicted a couple of troopers while he was DA and he let them skate. They come within inches of killing a man by beating him almost to death while they were off duty. They let the troopers handle the matter.. The guy latter got about six hundred thousand dollars as a settlemnt.
Your DA let the people down and thats FACT.

Seriously Jeff, you have never had a job where the boss let you off a bit early and paid you for the full day?You are always going on about minor things being crimes, and you think this is a felony?

This entire situation was misrepresented by the Albany correction thugs. The guards did nothing wrong. The guard's union should now try to show people what really happened. But I'm sure most have their minds made up already. Surprise, Benito's Albany lied. Who woulda thunk it?

Ridiculous charges to begin with.
