In the Sisyphean task that is the Senate candidacy of Wendy Long, the GOP challenger to Chuck got more ink in an editorial today than she will get for coverage of her whole campaign.
Ms. Long was in Syracuse and resorted to what you do these days. Get edgy to get attention. She ridiculed a mosque that had taken over the quarters of a Catholic church closed in 2010. The suggestion was the neighborhood suffered.
It's the kind of unfortunate and sweeping statements that defines politics, but for Ms. Long a way to break through the filter...
Senator Charles Schumer will be reelected and will be the possible Majority Leader or at least the Minority Leader.
It's always interesting when a big editorial takes up a topic or controversy unheard of. Ms. Long took to Facebook to suggest Catholics had been left to ISIS in this Syracuse neighborhood.
Proof positive the ease of instant communication is not always a boon to sensible discourse.
But the E-board can rest easy that Ms. Long's prospects this year are akin to a bag of ice left outdoors on an August day. It's the best metaphor I could think of on short notice.
