Watertown's Daily Water Use Skyrockets Compared To Last Year | WWNY TV 7

Thank goodness for the draught or we might never have known of the new Water Superintendent. The newly appointed head of one of the city's key departments appeared in the context of a story on high water usage.
Recently I asked why the hire was not considered newsworthy and a respected reporter said it's just not and people will get to see Vickie Murphy if a news story comes along about the Water Department.
The water czar oversees water treatment and distribution along with sewage treatment and hydroelectric production.
Its not like hiring a clerk/typist, but I grew up in the Bob Tompkins/Joe Rich era of news. I'd even like to see the anchors wearing leisure suits again.

Maybe the water dept. is glad not to recieve additional publicity after the "peeing in the dredge" story garnered full coverage, and as a recap the pee party participants all got promoted.

The Cow plant can only produce 10 MGD at certain times. If DANC/ Ft Drum requests its 4.5 MGD the COW cannot supply this daily. I know the water allotment contracts. If the expansion of the base happens it will increase the need/allotment from COW. Read the annual water quality report or the COW website which says 15 MGD can be produced. You thought the arena was expensive just wait. Remember a poster said expect to pay for Sligar's leadership. Not the first the taxpayers are lied to. Sligar bumped his retirement from $69000 to $89000. Hope you got your money's worth. All in the COW budget.

8:41 absolutely, and Butler & Jenkins (Mr. Mommy Pants) still have their supporters. I believe they will be reelected.
