Russell Campaigns While Awaiting Word on Foe

While waiting for her opponent to be chosen in September, Assemblywoman Addie Russell is busy making the rounds, visiting a senior fair on the Res and touring Psyc Center property in the Burg the city hopes to take title to under recently passed legislation.
With Mayor Wayne Ashley on Waterfront Property Now Owned by the State

Ms. Russell  will likely face her last rival, John Byrne, who is widely thought the favorite in a GOP primary that includes bobsledder Russ Finley and former prison official and Legislator William Sheridan.
The Russell PR machine is tuned up this year after a lethargic bid in 2014 in which she barely survived reelection. Her biggest impediment is gone, but the memory of former Speaker Silver and her support of him at the time of his arrest will be in the background. Ms. Russell has arrows in her quivver, as in her 2014 claim to be the only candidate never arrested, somethng she may choose to elaborate on this time.

Not a very flattering shot of Jen Stevenson :-)

I want to know who gets the island, she or the hubby?

Her biggest impediment is gone? Why do you think you know what motivated voters to only give her half the vote last election. Your take that it had something to do with Silver, gives a little too much credit to the voters.

I'm not sure talking about who was arrested or not is a good idea. That begs the question of who has actually committed a crime. Or supported a criminal assembly leader up until the day he was convicted. She should stay away from this type of campaigning and rely on the media to carry her water for her.

Surely Addie will try to turn this race personal, with ad hominem attacks on her opponents, instead of a referendum on her (lack of) record on behalf of the people of the North Country.

An 11th hour p-r blitz won't help her, though, because the die is cast and voters' opinions of her and her NYC and liberal tilt are so well known.

With the expected surge for the Donald in the North Country, it's soon to be bye-bye Addie.

I get use of the island 755. Consider it in-kind payment for servicing.

I don't remember anyone suggesting Sheldon's maid was ever arrested. Working the NYC Boys Club is not against the law.
