Big step.. maybe Watertown City Council and CM can take some lessons and learn that the end is not always the most beneficial with their hard-headed approach. The Fire Chief should sue the city, council and manager for defamation and the rest of the members should display a no confidence vote for Mr. Sligar since he is only there as a puppet to the third floor. I wonder where he lives? I bet not Watertown where he needs to live with his actions and put himself in the community. He should be ashamed of himself. I'm sure he will be living in sequestration like the manager soon. This is all the results of fighting with the ones who are stronger and those who protect the ones they are trying to infringe on. I still support public safety at any cost. In today's world its getting worse for them in the dangerous jobs they do, police or fire and even ambulance attendants.
And no, you thoughtless spines, i am not a fireman or family member, just a considerate and thankful supporter.

Hmmm, two sides who sat down and NEGOTIATED a deal, maybe the city should try that!

No 6:44, you're a stooge. And you're a fool. There is no such thing as "at any cost". Unless you're a Dannie, you have to pay your bills. Imaginary dangers are not persuasive, especially when fine people like you have opting out of the tax system everyone else has to live with.

As far as the hospital, I just hope the chief pretender gets to keep his million dollar salary.

6:44 Sligar lives the same place all the fire fighters do - out of town. I would not make this an issue of residency you will lose that argument

6:24 GOOD for you.. Where is our CITY MANAGER live.. OUT OF TOWN..
Its not an issue with anyone, but just those who don't live here always seem to make the biggest stink.
And now he doesn't have to live next to anyone who he is pretending to know, and put into danger.
Where do all the cops live? OUT OF TOWN, how about most of management? OUT OF TOWN..
There must be a problem here in Watertown for so many businesses and employees from all departments to live outside the city.. Maybe they should get the hint.
