Is A Rescue Team Being Formed ?

A comment writer claims he heard of a prominent local businessman partnering with someone else to present voters a team in next year's race for Council seats now held by Stephen Jennings and Teresa Macaluso.
Of course, we often hear of these "vision" people who are going to break gridlock, but they never seem to want to run.
Two new faces with some political muscle would be interesting but I would suggest anyone thinking this way attend some meetings as was done in the old days.
Realize also that running against the status quo, while popular these days, would also involve running against the records of people with a demonstrated following.
You can't call the Council ineffective and meandering without naming names, as there are only five people there.
So, this rumor is interesting to note, and we will have to keep an ear to the ground.

Given the recent pool vote, it sounds like the rescue team is needed to ADD gridlock, not reduce it.

Sounds like a good idea. If they both win, they would only need one vote to bring about some real change to the 3rd floor.

Who ever it is, I hope he will make Watertown great again!

I wonder if it's Bobby from big apple? He makes a lot of sense of issues and is not afraid to stand up for his ideas.

We need a recuse team. We need someone who knows what the hell is going on and knows how to get stuff done. We have a ship of fools who leading Watertown down a bad direction. Misuse of funds, misuse of resource, crime, and drugs just to mention a few.

Could Paul Simmons be planning a hostile take over of the council?
If so, say good-bye to Addison & Slye. And good riddance in my humble opinion!

No way Jennings loses the next round and I'll put money on it. Would love to know who these people are who will "rescue" us. ROTFL!

Are you kidding me right now 5:28? Jennings is nothing more than a titmouse who has finally run out of cheese. He is a goner next election! He is the epitome of what people are sick of in country, the elitist bureaucrat.

Could a Graham - Smith alliance be in the works??

No 2:14, he isn't.

I like the idea of a Graham - Smith alliance. Pragmatic common sense is what we need on the council. I would love to see them run on the idea of changing our form of government in watertown. Going to a mayoral form. That way we would have some accountability in our city chief executive. The city manager form is clearly not working anymore. I believe the political climate is ripe for this kind of initiative.

What?? 10:52, give it up. We need to move forward, not backwards. Jeff is too interested in how every action/decision is going to help/hurt his election chances, regardless of the issue at hand. Smith was arrogant enough to believe voters worked for him, rather than working as a public servant. What's needed is term limits.

We need new ideas, with new enthusiasm. Graham is more enthusiastic now than when in office for decades and sounds much happier. Look at all the extra gym time he's getting!
