Friot Gets A New Life

I see John Friot is getting a chance to shed the drudgery of field reporting up north and is joining Senator Ritchie's staff. Lots of reporters have made their way to these state jobs as the news business dries up.
Good for John, he deserves the opportunity and is a hard worker and reporter from the old school.
I had the pleasure of hiring John decades ago. I think at the time John had a beard and the GM told me before I could hire him he had to shave it off.  I think things have changed since.
John was a reporter first and could write. Nowadays it's all about the walking standup and how you look doing it.
Be tough to find someone up there to fill his shoes.

John will definitely be missed in St. Lawrence County. Great guy and his contacts and knowledge will never be replaced as he transitions to the dark side. Proud to call John a friend.

Well let's hope he doesn't play cover for his son who is an absolute disgrace working as a NYS Parks and Rec Police Officer making his mark by harrassing tourists, sportsmen and anyone else he thinks he can write a ticket.

D:B:Z:/Dannie, you finally posted something I agree with. Friot is a good man. I enjoy his work too. Now if they would just hire someone to do the weather who doesn't just read numbers, I'd die happy.

"It was 83 in Lowville. Farther down in Boonville they hit 84. Our friends a Ft Drum saw 85. The Cape was up to 86, but with no wind of course. Up in the Bay they saw only 83.... blah blah blah..."
