The journalism in Watertown is lacking also. You don't seem to hear anything on certain stories. I heard some people talking at jet gas today about some guy getting his penis severed on state last night? I didn't see anything on newzjunky or the times about that. Anyone know what happened?

And again I must mention Handy Andy's Naturalize NY agenda. Haven't seen a word said or printed about it. Unless it's buried somewhere in the print.

Yeah, I always judge a truly great newspaper by the number of severed penis stories that are run. Most of the yahoos on this blog wouldn't know good journalism if it bit them in the ass.

Seems I mentioned something a few days back about journalism starting to die during the Vietnam era. At least I'm not the only one who has noticed.

At least ONE journalist gets it.

That four day old story about the Air Brake clean up was topical as the Sunday lead.

Remember when in the 11th hour, "whats the frequency Kenneth" released the "smoking gun" fake report on Bush Junior's National Guard service? That was the final try for Dan Rather to undermine the election, bu the failed. And shortly before he tried that nonsense, he ran the DWI conviction in Maine. Journalism has always been partisan but never in such lockstep as it is today.

But more importantly is the rest of the media, save for hate radio, that all leans left of left. You mentioned MTV as you know our cupcakes and snowflakes are having their minds polluted with that crap. Plus there is comedy central and all the late night anti Trump propaganda. "The View" and pretty much all media targeted toward females is left wing. That means every television series too. And then there are all the local media like Perry and Scotty, who parrot the left wing talking points religiously.

The best days are when the WDT has almost a full page of history ditties. Or when they run the same comic twiceon one day and again the next.

Who found the penis?

That story about Bush was never followed up adequately and could have cost Bush the election. His pseudo military service made me see him as a huge hypocrite when he traveled in a jet and landed on an aircraft carrier ... to emerge in a uniform, salute and say..."Mission Accomplished". He was far from the war her his father was.
News media refused to follow up on this story as it WOULD have cost GW the election and he would have been "cuttin brush" a lot sooner than he did.
But I agree with the bad news media assessment. The Johnson's changed their format and publish stories based on business assessments, now what's important. Just look at how the Letters from the people has turned into letters about events that should be just news reports or special features, and have no business on the "opinion page". Unless you want to count things like-"Yeah, that concert at the high school was a good one." as "opinion".
I can't say I blame the Johnson's for doing this, though. We need newspapers to survive. It is a media in itself and is struggling. any way to keep it going is worthy. I know that sounds contradictory. But it is based on reality.
