WDT: In The River District , Is the GOP Headed for Unity or a Train Wreck?

With three me-too parties in his quiver, John Byrne certainly has to be considered the favorite for the GOP three way primary in September.....But how raucous will it be ? There's little indication Russ Finley or Bill Sheridan will fold their cards, but frankly the GOP line isn't worth a bucket of warm spit without the other lines, especially since Assemblywoman Addie Russell has straightened out her campaign act and if turning earth and cutting ribbons at a fevered pace.
John Byrne Campaigns in Ogdensburg in 2014

There's no love among these contenders as Mr. Finley routinely calls Mr. Byrne the Cape Vincent con man, a reference to his business dealings in Otsego County where he ran a bar and a plastic extrusion business Finley says received a ton of public money but went nowhere.
Republicans dismiss Mr. Finley as a party changing interloper who spoiled their prospects two years ago and threatens to do the same this year.
I think Mr. Sheridan thought he was going to be the establishment choice, but a check of the petition witness statements likely would say otherwise. His effort so far has shown no media savvy as he ticked off the WDT and NJ by feeding his announcement to Jeff Cole on WWNY.
Since this is the only race of interest locally, this drama will provide a sidebar of entertainment, but with no advertising budgets, the really juicy accusations and acrimony won't make it through the generally pro-Byrne media filter.
One thing for sure is the Dems won't sit on their hands this time and the whole SAFE Act, common core mantra has faded.

Once again gentlemen and ladies of course. We have these three running for Assembly and we have Republican or at least I think Republican Patty Ritchie and Blankenbush..
Of this group only one has shown support for our choice for president.. If they cant support our canidate then we should support them.. Ritchie as we all know dosnt answer to anyone including the press and voters any more so I doubt she understand why she should be supporting Trump over Clinton..
Right now Finley will get my vote

Byrne already flubbed it up during the last low donkey turn-out election. He is once again in the con business, trying to con the voters into thinking he has a chance. The only chance is to vote for one of the other two.

Tim Tanner doesn't have his sign up yet, declaring who the mighty repubs will back in the megatroplis of Theresa...........

Anybody has a chance in the Maid's district. I don't agree with your views, Jeff, that the SAFE Act fiasco has faded. Lots of people remember how Adelaide bent over and sold out her constituents. And all for an ashtray emptying gig in NY City. I give her credit for sucking up to Big Ed, per se.

No one can say Mr. Byrne hasn't worked diligently to secure these extra lines. He Knows what it take to run, hard work! I appreciate a candidate who talks to you face to face and is personable and sincere. It's clear Mr. Finley is chummy chummy with Addie and is truly a Wolfe in sheep's clothing flopping from party to party like a Wolfe going from hen house to hen house. Mr.Sheridan is being pushed by the anti Byrne group of Democrats from the Cape who every election will put his signs up until, of course until Sheridan loses and then they will put Addie Signs up after the primary. The Residents of this district isn't stupid,of course some will like Byrne along with those who oppose him. The people in this district is much stronger than a group of spoilers and Mr.Byrne is the only one who will beat Addie. Why? Cause hes a hard worker. And people like him. I respect other people's rights to vote. However, My vote is for Mr.Byrne.

All three Republican candidates suck and Adelaide is no better. Ugh...

You're a fool as usual 949. We have 3 crummy, wannabe candidates. None inspire, with Burn being the Dr facto republican nominee. Addie will win again...

The SAFE Act is done 949. It's not even a back-burner issue anymore. Much like the 'Common Core/Reform/Dipshit' "movement".

Over and done.
