NY government jobs on the decline, or so they Say

It doesn't seem like it, but the numbers show fewer full time public sector employees. Bad news for those who think a jobs plan is more government jobs. Fact is in many small towns, the government workers, especially in education, are the income leaders.

NY government jobs on the decline

Well keep in mind that a lot of those government jobs are not listed as official govenrment jobs. Just look at the Watertown Trust Black River Hudson River embezzlement association. Or try to find some of the village jobs on the see through NY website (hint: a lot of them are not listed).

And then lets not forget that every contract is really a govenrment job. Guilfoyle may be a contractor, but they look like a duck, quack like a duck and unionize like a duck. Hell, even a $12mm hockey rink is chock-full of prevailing rate government jobs. Just as a $500k monument build is. And soon we will have $15/hr fast food employees with paid time off for menstrual cramps. Berger World did not come up with that idea on their own, and only complies by threat of force, so those are government jobs too.

Or 826 we need to stop the popular practice of having LEO's work for little villages all the while padding their retirements...

Government jobs may be down for the unwashed, but believe me, in Albany there is no shortage of hangers on, all arranging for their kids to become operators too. It's your money, but probably not your kid. Sorry. Always remember. Benito really does care. And every year, he celebrates not only the Fourth, but your own continuing stupidity.

What the hell are you talking about? Educators are in the bottom of the income bracket when it comes to government workers.. Administrators maybe, but everyone else is lagging behind cops, prison guards, firemen, snow plow drivers, grant writers, building inspectors, DEC officers, border patrol, dog catchers etc. And most of them don't even have any college much less a masters degree. Hell, even a secretary for the City of Watertown makes as much as the average educator...

8:04, you're a liar. Teachers do very well for themselves. You have to know this, but can't admit it as you probably are employed by a school or have a family member who is. If you take into account the part time status of teaching, the pay and benefits, the job security, and the early retirement opportunities, they be at the top in local lifestyles. You know that house that belonged to the late Carl Lamica on Ives Street? You know, the one with indoor pools and such? It was once the highest assessed home in the city. It was just purchased by a teacher. No problem. But don't lie about how rough educators have it. There must have been a lot of cookies sold and fundraisers given to get the bucks to buy that place. Oh the suffering those folks endure. BS

No, 8:57 PM, you are just too lazy to look at seethroughny. I know plenty of cops and prison guards who make 6 figures and can retire after 20 and 25 years. The average teacher makes 50k and retires after 35 years if they're lucky.

11:57, I will not allow you to lie again without a rebuttal. There are not "plenty" of cops and guards who make six figures. Some higher ups might. Some troopers might with overtime. But always remember. Those are full time jobs. A guard that makes six figures is working twice as many hours as your teachers. Stop lying. It is never too late to acquire some integrity. I hope you get invited to one of the indoor pool parties at the Lamica house. If it ain't the Bahamas, it's in indoor pool. Not a bad record of sacrifice. Poor, poor them.

Actually, the average trooper makes over 100k. Next time, do a little research.

Quite a few teachers also sign up for "Summer School" to help supplement their income, Most CO's have construction Co.'s or do odd jobs, and end up working 29 double shifts to have say the whole summer off, The Economic elite of the North is a Teacher and a LEO. Another scam is working for JCC and if you have kids well they go for FREE, lots of scams in the north country just a few examples.
