My Take on Today's HOTLINE

Most people think I am a sop for the Congresswoman because I do support her, but I tried to challenge her today on this Trump issue.  A lot of people I talk to are tired of the GOP establishment deciding to throw the election to purify the GOP for the George Will crowd....Bow tie Republicans we call them.  Rep. Elise Stefanik is the vanguard of a new generation of pols. Those of us who are done want to see her seize the moment as her constituents, like the nation, are tired of Swiss cheese immigration, lousy trade deals and a President afraid to speak the truth on Muslim extremism.
I was glad, when pressed, that Ms. Stefanik said she supports not just the nominee, but Donald Trump specifically.
One caller on the HOTLINE today crystallized the issue and cast asunder the nonsense you hear in the editorial board meetings on each side of NY21.
Elise Stefanik supports Donald Trump for President. I was glad to hear that today.

Yet another vapid interview Jeff. You're completely in the bag and it's gotten old.

Rep. Elise Stefanik showed why she may be on a Presidential ticket some day in an interview that showed her ability to gage a political 'hot' potato in real time and de4al with it.

Yes, the smart move is to support Donald Trump, who after all is the GOP nominee and has received a record number of votes earning that nomination, which will be finalized shortly in Cleveland, Ohio.

SM had reported that Elise had turned down invitation to speak, and she clarified that by saying no, in fact she wasn't invited, and wanted to stay close to home in a campaign year.

Rep. Stefanik is a mature politician at this stage, and she's playing for big stakes in 2020. If Mr. Trump fails to win in 2016, it could very well be a (R) Ticket that consists of Speaker Paul Ryan, and by then a more seasoned and mature Congressional presence named Rep. Elise Stefanik.

ep. Stefanik is taking the long view, an it looks pretty rosy from here, as in 'SHE MAY GO ALL THE WAY!"

I've had differences with Elise, but I've also remained objective, about what she offer the District as our current MOC.

A (D) Mike Derrick seems remarkably similar to in his inability to get a campaign launched as Mr. Wolf was last time out. Matt Funiceillo is a guy who just doesn't excite many, with his can't find a tie presence, even though he can sound like Bernie for five minutes.

Rep. Elise Stefanik in a landslide and NY/21 is lucky to have her at this point!

Stefanik may now be giving lip service to supporting Donald Trump, but that is only because she sees the writing on the wall or rather the votes in the ballot box. When it comes to supporting Trump's agenda with legislation, she will vote in what ever way Paul Ryan directs her.

Trump has united the GOP, those with any brains anyway, to vote for Hillary Clinton.

Never let another person's opinion, such as 11:15pm, become your reality.

You are 100% legit mayor !!!!
If it was anyone from MSNBC to CNN interviewing her, their only goal and questions would be to get her to say she supports Trump and that is what you did. Of course their reason would be, so they could ask her why she is a racist homophobe misogynist. Since you didn't ask those followup questions, you are soft on her.

Donald Trump really, what is she thinking? Just towing the party line as usual. You can not tell me that she would be supporting Trump for any other reason. He is toxic and must offend her just like he does any other truly intelligent person. There is a big difference between supporting someone and voting for them. A supporter works to help them get elected. I sure hope that she does not plan on campaigning in any way for this racist, fascist, sexist idiot. If she does it will surely hurt her brand.

As for your interview, yes, thanks for bringing it up. However, once you had her on the issue you should have asked her further to get to her real feelings about him and his policies. You threw soft balls the whole time even though you had an excellent opportunity to really challenge her on her point. In the end, you pandered and did not exercise the type of impartiality that could elevate you to a more effective political journalist. At times it looked like more of a paid advertisement than a real hard-hitting piece. Better luck next time, tho.

See what we mean when you read 10:16's comment above? Libtards have selective sensibility. Aside from the fact that 10:16 wouldn't know a truly intelligent person, even if she divorced him and took him for everything he was worth, it goes without saying, that anyone who is not more offended by Hillary, Obama and his entire cabinet, than by Trump, is truly a dimwit.

GOPers around here blast me for "being a typical, loyal, straight in line with the DEMS no matter who the candidate is, etc. etc., yap, yap."

Yet those same GOPers around here don't do that, right ... hypocrites.
