Hot Day Musings

Never heard anything more about the shooting at the Fair. Did the woman die ? Circumstances? Weapons charges ? City policy ?  Apparently it was a 36 year old Florida woman and she did die.
Hot day ahead so be careful and stay hydrated. Who can complain about the winter, spring or summer. One of the best years I have ever seen up here.
Have you noticed how they made those changes in the FD and now it's totally off the radar ? Now its Pokémon Go making news as reports surface of trespassing complaints in Gouverneur.
That Sanders endorsement was so awkward....enough to get MSNBC to use the words "full throated".  It was mostly about himself and Mrs. Clinton looked Christie-like standing next to him forcing smiles and bobbing her head as she mumbled to herself, 'when is this a------ going to finish ?'
Saw a large Byrne sign up on Coffeen Street at a usual GOP site. What's this Sheridan guy doing ?  I'll be very interested in who got the deal cut for the C line. That should come out Monday. Hard to read , as Byrne is entitled to a second bite, but Sheridan seems more the old guard, traditional candidate.
Ivanka Trump showed up at the Pence home this morning with her husband Jarad Kushner. Just a head fake or is it meaningful ?  Hope its a fake as this guy doesn't expand the base, but he has to declare by Friday whether he is seeking reelection as Governor of Indiana so its crunch time. Mr. Trump and Governor Pence are also said to have had breakfast this AM.

The city was not investigating that suicide attempt, the county was as they take over law enforcement duties at the fairgrounds during fair week, don't ask me why.The sheriff said in her press release that no more information would be forthcoming, which is standard in suicide incidents unless there are charges to other people involved, which it doesn't sound like there will be.

Last week I was wondering what all these people were doing, wandering around with their eyes glued to the I-Phones. One woman I saw almost got creamed by a car crossing a busy street. A day later, a millennial almost walked into a fire hydrant. I wonder if he would have received any Poke-E-Balls for that move.

You ask about city policy. This is an issue which you would give your famous duck and weave that you did to most controversial issues, but if it was good you were out front.

There's no policy on CCW at City Buildings, except Water and sewer Depts. employees are not allowed guns concealed or otherwise, I guess the fairgrounds didnt get the memo. Terrible tragedy...But who owned the gun? Is it legal? the SAFEACT was passed but is it enforced??

I would consider betting the farm that Byrne gets the C line; Although old guard, Sheridan is not all that well liked........

Sheridan is the arch nemesis of Conservative Ford in the big county. Ford would have to cave in if he wants an attempt to get another St Lawrence resident in the state legilature

dajeep, all these phone sucking dumbasses are the reason we have the Liar in Chief in the WH, as it were.

The FD is still an issue. It will raise it's ugly head again. As will the arena, etc.. This is how we roll in Watertown. Push the negative, pass the buck, etc.

She was choice of Eric Trump for VP so her word may be the last word to Daddy? Erick said so last week and albeit dumb, he seems to think government and the White House will both be under the Trump's "real estate empire label." What a hoot.

11.06 people are starved for anything new around here. Do you blame them for anything when they get it? We live in almost a May- Berry setting compared to the rest of the world. A fictional town with little top nothing to do. Maybe drink, drugs, and sex. Isn't it a wonder to see people out side? I think so.

2:21 what is up with your issue and the FD. Nothing is said here about the fire dept., so why keep that ugly ball rolling. Its peoples lives and employment, and our taxes and other issues which is a sensitive move for CM, Fire Chief, members and everyone. Let things work itself out and stop wasting taxpayers dollars and get a job. You probably are using up the minutes and postings from your Obama phone too.
Its all typical about watertown and these blogs.. pose the negative and keep things going rather than look at something positive.

I see Dannie is required to attack the family of Trump as well. It's not like he would ever mention little Chelsea, married to a scam artist and living in a $10Million apartment. That Clinton Foundation is a great thing, isn't it? It will be even more fun to watch if Dan's Pants Suit gets elected, as it were.

11:37 You better read again, the former Mayor brought the subject up, so it is he who is keeping the ugly ball rolling. And on that note in todays paper I see the litigation has begun and now the state civil service is involved. Once again taxpayers will pay for the poor management and leadership by this city manager and council. Lawyers are smiling all the way to the bank, now I wonder who is advising the manager what to do...hmmm maybe the high priced attorney. Win or lose for the city, he gets paid and walks out of town laughing holding a big check while us taxpayers pay not only in real money but in decreased services and protection.

In 1992? When the COW DPW had layoffs a gentleman who was in charge of 6 people was demoted, odd thing he was in charge of the same 6 people after the layoff, well needless to say it went to court, and the issue was resolved with a large amount of back pay.........It seems the COW never learns..
