Bob Dole; Shows Class By Showing Up

It was good to see Bob Dole at the RNC....In his nineties, Senator Dole proves himself a class act and a Republican.....Unlike others who have had the nomination or are related to those who have had the nomination and are griping and whining, Senator Dole told NBC he supports Donald Trump for the good of the country.
I met Senator Dole in 1976 when he was the VP nominee with President Ford and he visited Columbia MO, the home of Mizzou.
His longshot 1996 bid against President Clinton only increased the admiration Americans had for him.
His appearance and interview were an interesting juxtaposition to the GOP pols who say they will take four years of Hillary Clinton and deal with it all then.

Bob Dole eh. No shit…. I thought he was dead. Well this should make a big difference for the newly formed Vulgarian Party.

Mr Dole, a real war hero, who served with the 10th Mountain Division, would have been a fine president.

I have always liked and respected Bob Dole not just for his war record, and distinguished congressional record, but for the way he handles himself and serious issues. He is an example of the "lost art" of being what the GOP used to stand for - but long gone these past 20 years or so. (Note: My Mother and two sisters and a few other family members are all GOPers, so I am not biased in that regard).

Easy to say, Dannie. And goodness knows you're the best at things that are easy to say. I would submit, with all due respect to a hero like yourself, that it is the Democrat party that used to stand for something. The JFK suggestion of "ask not what your country..." has been replaced by people like you, always willing to puke some nonsense about how you deserve more FreeStuff. Voting without ID's, open borders, using the IRS to go after political opposition, lying to the American people, running the debt to $19TRILLION dollars, advocating that our police be hated and blamed for every possible societal ill, giving the Iranians money to buy nukes, all while loving every program that comes down the pipe, except for defense of course. That's what you stand for now, and it really sucks, Dan. Democrats aren't really Americans any more, and you are the perfect example of such blind party loyalty, per se. If your Mom is indeed a Republican, as you claim, then she did a poor job of upbringing.

Lost art? The only thing I remember about his campaign is the dumb "Just Don't Do it" motto. And his cold gray suit turned off a whole generation of fresh, young conservatives.

6:16 - my Mother passed 20 years ago ... right after my Dad ... but thanks for your concern about her parenting skills ... she did a great job with me, and I'm living proof of that. Take a deep breath.

I would disagree, Dan. A parents first responsibility is to teach a child independent thought. Somehow, that didn't happen. With your constant use of profanity and concerns for the nation subordinate to your love for party, there was a breakdown somewhere.
