WDT: Hospital Gobbles Up Four More Buildings

A $10M expansion project has increased the footprint of the city's only hospital.  Four buildings have been razed on the Woodruff Street side of the sprawling medical complex.  I remember the original hospital on what was Pratt Street with the old Keep home still there. As kids we used to think it was haunted.
      Things have changed.

The city better not get any crazy ideas of selling Woodruff Street to Samaritan for $75,000.00 LIKE THEY DID ON PRATT STREET. The last house on Woodruff street should hold out for huge money .I remember bob kizer CEO in the 80s at the Hospital with the Pratt Street sign displayed in the corner of his office like a darn Hunters trophy.

As long as it is not a new Mcdonalds I don't care what it is. Even if they level every house within five blocks of the hospital and make it into parking. Parking is beautiful. My one other concern is for trees, beautiful trees. Well, THAT and storm water treatment. Imagine what all this parking is doing to our rivers and lakes. We should make the hospital use the next five houses for stormwater treatment and planting fresh new trees.
