The corporate remnants of the once vital North Side League have formally heard from the Children's Home about their plans for a Boy's and Girl's Club at the former club's building on Mill Street.
The reconstituted board of directors are grappling with how to dispose of the real property in advance of dissolution of the corporation which had fell into disuse in recent years.
The Boy's Club proposal would result in rehabilitation of the building and a use that benefits the neighborhood. Selling the building and creating a scholarship endowment is also being considered.
In terms of legacy, giving out scholarships from an organization no one remembers seems to do little for to preserve the legacy of the 105 year old civic group.
