Source: Water Czar Said to Come from Auburn.

Watertown's new water czar comes from a post in Auburn NY, according to a well placed source with first hand knowledge.  It's expected Vicky Murphy will join the city soon after resigning a post with Development Authority of the North Country where she had been recruited to run a facility in the Maple City. She is said to have resigned that post today.
Best wishes to her, as she will replace Michael Sligar who retires Thursday.  The water superintendent oversees the water treatment and distribution, the wastewater plant and the hydro electric plant.
The Internet says Ms. Murphy was Director of Municipal Utilities in Auburn.

No one locally in the Department can handle the job, I suppose?

Or maybe another City Manager move to keep deleting local people and go outside to "save money?"

I still can't figure that one out... oh, wait, she was an outsider too when she was hired too.

That 'splains a lot ...

Hey here's a thought pick her brain about the Crow Hunt they have in Auburn???? Hopefully she'll treat the employees better, they'll work harder and walk through brick walls for her if she treats them right....

Danny, another question: Why did the city have to bring in an outsider to fill the position of resident donkey-party-line clown?

I do not know this new person and will give her the benefit of any doubt. However, a trend is continuing here in the COW and I believe it is very obvious.

Whenever possible women are being recruited to replace males. Is this another attempt by the CM to build a base for her?

I have to agree that there must have been someone from within the organization who had worked hard and show a career of dedication to the city. Yet another slap in the face of the city employees, who by the way, have not been treated very well by the current administration. By all accounts the outgoing water super. was not know as a pro-employee person and frequently did the dirty work for the 3rd floor. His departure is most definitely a good thing so long as his replacement is not someone just like him.

I am sure we have not heard the last of Mr. Sligar. Rumor is he will be back to act as a hired gun, dirty-deed doer, for those who don't have the personal integrity to do their own bidding. Yet more taxpayer money wasted to play games and engage in baseless retaliation and harassment. I wonder why the city can not move forward?

Did Dannie apply?
Probably.
Double dipping Danny.

Just a "good natured jab" at Mr. Sliger----I'm sure by now he remembers about "flashboard elevations" on the river as to NOT interfering with river flow or generation at the city generating station!

Geeze Dannie. I wish I could have thought of these most recent slams on you, but I can't. They were from other members of your fan club, per se.

Cue the GN. Predictable as always. Not much to say, just bitter and jealous.

Thank you for your service Danny.

Just be glad for those who left.

You're right, 6:19. I have a strong feeling that GN guy will be here until the end of time. The man's craziness is limitless. But I also think he just doesn't care. He's a Republican, and as Dannie told us, he's a racist.
