Council Lauded for Bed Bug Initiative

Council was lauded at the last night's meeting for their action on bed bugs. The lady who spoke said people all over the state are noting our City's willingness to step forward on what is normally a personal and property issue.   It's been suggested Senator Chuck Schumer be encouraged to speak out on the issue.
At the meeting the public was also encouraged to use clear trash bags as part of big government's observation of your recycling compliance.
The public should ignore this edict although this humble blog has long supported making recycling easier to do by allowing comingling.

People these days are absolutely useless and helpless without big government.

Sad.

LONG LIVE THE BEDBUG CZAR...mR Jennings.

One of the most ridiculous things that I have ever heard. Mr. Jennings is hardly the hero on this one as the problem continues despite his shallow effort. (one nut saying it does not make is so).

Why is it that liberals, like Jennings, feel that every problem has to have some sort of government solution? You are correct, Jeff, when you point out that infestations inside private dwellings are NOT public, but are private problems that people have to solve on their own. As 731 correctly points out, we are far to reliant on big government to solve every problem that we have. I am just left to wonder what will be next from Mr. Big Government? What ever happened to individual responsibility?

Long live the stupid in City Hall!

Now if we could just find a pest control company to get rid of Jennings, then we would have something!

I cannot believe we are known as a "city with bedbug problem". It's pretty embarrassing. Of all things, are you kidding me? We're doomed!
Just like the ash borer, these pests are brought in by transients, not locals. Thank you DSS, and Camp Drum.

9.05....It's more like the herds of NYC drug dealers we have coming in all day long. Jennings wants something to do? Build our drug task force up. Get some 5/o on the streets.

Boy, the comments here demonstrate why public service sure is a thankless job.
