An analysis piece by Scotty Atkinson ? Well, it's interesting to say the least.....The leadership up this way doesn't get it.
"The party has spoken and while this was a feisty and unusual campaign, there are many reasons the North Country will consider supporting Mr. Trump as they hear more detail on his proposals. I look forward to hearing more from him as well in the weeks before the convention."
Or how about-"Damn straight we support Trump. He's a leader who can beat Hillary Clinton."
This grudging "I will support the nominee" or the outright repudiation of the presumptive nominee should force some people to realize that maybe people like them are the reason voters bolted.
This year has been a clear message that the party folk on both sides are held in low regard. The notion that the White House is so easily sacrificed just to hold on to incumbencies in lower office could backfire.
People support Trump because he is not "one of them".
For me, watching this year has been a chance for introspection and a wake up. Apparently not for others, although for the record, the Jefferson Chair did say he is a "team player" and will vote for Mr. Trump.
