WDT: Mayor in Albany to Push Western Boulevard

Mayor Butler and CM Addison were reportedly in Albany on Friday to personally appeal to DOT officials to do what the state hasn't done in the past. That is providing dollar support to the long-talked about Western Boulevard project being sought by developer Patrick Donegan.
It was only last fall the City Council showed a willingness to move ahead on the project.

Where would that be?

A "republican" mayor in Albany with his hand out for freestuff, to build a road which mainly benefits one developer. Using eminent domain to take the land from the owner who refuses to sell.
And the proposed name for the road is the dumbest most unoriginal generic name reminiscent of the Simpsons tongue in cheek nomenclature.
Good thing Butler returned the donation from the developer, otherwise we might think he was acting like our Governor.

Why not name it "crony capitalism boulevard" or "eminent domain drive" instead?

If the developer wants a new road let him foot the bill, Not one taxpayer would benefit from the expense of this road project in this age of money problems .

10:29, you don't understand. Its for the children. Old people and children could die in a fire if we don't make it easier for the fire trucks to get to some place over there. Do you want that on your hands?

Talk about the blind leading the blind. I surprised these two clueless souls found their way to the Capital in the first place.

Both of these people have outstayed their welcome as our city leaders. Put Addison's contract renewal up for a public vote and as Trump would say, You're Fired!

Can you imagine that car ride? yikes! only thing missing is little Stephen in the back seat telling bed-bug stories. lol

I am agreement on the CM...give Mr. Butler a chance before you/we hang him. Mr. Graham got that benefit, that's the least we could do here. He can't perform miracles overnight.

What a total joke this is. The officials in Albany must have had a good chuckle about these two incompetents. The road to no-where leads to the third floor.

Additional development and jobs for the city are not a bad thing. Mr. Donegan was given assurances before he decided to invest millions of dollars into our city and to provide hundreds of jobs here. The taxpayer does benefit by having new bed taxes, sales taxes and jobs. Wake up people. Growth and development are in all of our best interest.

You are going to wish that this road was in once Arsenal Street is closed off to replace the bridge. This road has been envisioned for many years and way before Joe was Mayor. If the city did not intend to follow through then they never should have made the offer. It's time to do what is right and open up this corridor for development.

6:01, you don't care about development. If you did we would have a new gas station and McDonald's on Washington street. the city wouldn't run business like doggie doo and the highlife out of town either. The city wouldn't falsely and in bad-faith, interpret the building code to count an oven built on site as being "manufactured".

The CM and the new Mayor must be doing something right. The firequeens are losing their minds. Guys, relax. I'm sure you will still be able to bilk the taxpayers as you have done in the past. YOu can retire early, rack up overtime as before, and all at the expense of the people you pretend to care about.
