Town of Hounsfield approves Dollar General on Route 3 | WRVO

The tony Town of Hounsfield is getting a dollar store...it's not blighting downtown Sackets or the waterfront. It's on Route 3, which otherwise is an expanse of nothing.

But the board did the right thing unlike the poor decision our Council made in refusing to allow the McDonald's on Washington Street due to noisy neighbors.

Light pollution was one of the reasons given to stop the project. Sounds to me like the same idiots who hate the wind in the Cape are involved with the DJ deal in Sackets. What did one babe out in the Cape say? The spinners made her husband's heart beat funny. Really, this is the America we now have.

9:02, that is a vivid imagination you have there. On the one hand, there are those of us with the good sense to object to windmill eyesores, which would loom over the scenic waterfront, a tenth of a mile into the air. And on the other hand you have a few anti-development minority, who object to a few 20' tall parking lot lights at a dollar store.

But as long as you set the bar low, for categorizing people into groups, sounds like you are the same gun owner idiots, who shoot up abortion clinics and commit mass shootings in our schools.

What? No reference to Nordstrom?
I'm sure the Houndsfielders wouldn't bristle at a little poke at their level of sophistication.

12:00, nothing here imagined. All claimed facts are factual. How are those spinners looking in front of your face at the cape? And to think, you didnt' want them behind your back. Strange. You won, I think. As far as abortion clinics. Not sure your connection but I can see where your brain is. Very fashionable. Very stupid.

Oh no 6:37, it is you who won. You made your brilliant case that since we now have a few windmills out front, miles across the river, we might as well put more up all over our beautiful scenic waterfront. Well, you have convinced us all with your logic. And on the same token, now that we have a few gun laws, we might as well rubber stamp all the new gun laws too. You no longer have an argument not to.

9:02 AM, at least a DG is something people can use to save money. Industrial wind turbines cost us our view and tons of money. We pay for national grid to build lines to them. We pay subsidies to the foreign companies building them. We pay higher prices because companies are bullied into paying extra for "green" energy. Yet industrial wind turbines don't save us anything.
