My understanding of this one-in-the- North Country $10M downtown grant is that applicamts are not proposing specifics but merely outlining why your downtown is deserving, then a $300K study is done to come up with specifics.
Watertown's Downtown has a story to tell and there has been investment. However, there are things like Lachenauer Plaza where nothing will be done till fall and the old fountain I am told is DOA.
Letting something like that languish is a metaphor and shouldn't happen.
I applaud the Mayor for aggressively pursuing this grant, as downtown has made strides.
The deal with this grant is inside baseball, and no one not on the Third Floor is thinking about it.
