WDT: Trump Rally a Good Way to Spend a Saturday Afternoon

The Trump rally is going to be fun, festive and a chance to experience a real political event right here in Jefferson County. There will be national attention for Watertown and Fort Drum and it will be an experience for all.
Yes there will be those who pooh pooh it and mock it...Those who are afraid to go or even say they want to go.
But for those enthused with the Trump candidacy....those who want to learn more....or those who want to experience a political event not seen often, its a great day. I am sure the Sanders rally tomorrow in Syracuse will be fun too.
Back in 1964 crowds packed Public Square and reached out to tough Bobby Kennedy when he ran for Senate....in 1976, Jimmy Carter visited the Rebel Room Tavern.....Since then I don't recall much.....

I remember many years ago playing in a kids band and getting a job to play for Nelson Rockefeller at the Watertown airport. Never will forget it. If they had any form of security, we never would have been allowed to be there, yet alone play for the guy.

Bill Clinton was here campaigning for Congressman Owens. Hillary Clinton had one of her very first listening tours in St. Law. Co. when she was thinking of running for US Senate.

Mentioning Bobby Kennedy in the same paragraph with Trump is sacrilegious!
