WDT: Home show kicks off opening of Watertown arena

I wish I had made it to the home show as I have some projects planned, but you know sometimes there is too much going on...The Trump rally....work....and other pursuits prevented me from making it.
I was thinking of an addition with some of the amenities I have never had like a spa....But I better make sure that's legal first.
With all this landlord regulation coming, I don't want to upset the sensibilities of the elites.

8 people from Parks and Rec working the concession stand. Clearly not happy to be there. No one really busy. Critical of the prices. $23 for a couple of dogs and a sausage. A couple of their buds providing the heckle.

Having watched the drama in the media, I get it. YThey don't want to do it. But if I were not a local I would have walked away wondering what a bunch of odd folk the city employed.

Now that is good leadership! I pay their wages. It is not a good return on my $. Did no one from the council test their product this weekend. Shameful. Fire these bozos.

Sorry to hear the concessions are priced so high and service needs improving. I would expect Gardner was there to observe.

The whole Parks and Rec agency needs a complete overhaul once again, starting at the top. I have never seen such a fiasco.

Only at a time when an annual event takes place like the Home Show, which has been and still is a great event, can something like this be overshadowed by an arena story. It's a friggin arena! Ice, bleachers, etc...who the heck cares. It should be nice. And it's not Gardner's fault. She should NOT be in concession/naming rights sales. That's not her job. She should be in charge of booking that monstrosity and staffing it, nothing else. And I know this will ruffle the proverbial feather, but, she should have leeway in pricing. The heartwalk was at JCC, another event the arena lost. A good event.

10:14 I agree with the advertising rights but concessions were run before and there was never such crying. Now who should be in charge of booking, there is an assistant that was never in P&R before. What is his function. Too many assistants in the COW. No raises!

Just remember the concession workers are just that. Making some wages for themselves and not the honorees to the ridicule of pricing and style. That's all given to them and they work honestly to serve you.
Remember that when you don't want to pay the price or think the selection is horrible. That's not their fault so be sure to send your comments or visit the city council chambers to vent there, and not on the poor employees.
