Trump Surge Prompts Cautious Pols to Put a Toe in the Water

A governor running for reelection doesn't want to offend "the base" yet doesn't want to alienate the Trumpists. So Indiana's Mike Pence issued a tepid endorsement of Ted Cruz in which he seemed to spend more time praising Donald Trump....

Many local and state pols are coming to grips to Trumpism in their party where they are being asked to rebuke convention for the new reality.

We have seen that locally and its going on everywhere as Donald Trump marches to Cleveland and the nomination.

I thought it was an excellent endorsement. He echoed my sentiments on the matter.

You may not like Cruz and that is understandable.
But he is honest as the day is long and the furthest thing in the world from establishment, as we just saw with speaker bonehead's comments. And he has a record of fighting for what the people want and that is why after he single handedly partially shut down the govenrment, the GOP swept up more seats and governorships in a tidal wave of approval for him.

ANON 6:24 you're clearly trying to make us laugh - okay I'm laughing - Cruz has just been compared to Lucifer by John Boehner, and Rep. Peter King NY is concerned that that's giving Lucifer a worse reputation than he currently enjoys! Mike Flynn 'Middle Class Mike'

Then he went to Iowa and pandered to the Ethanol corn farmers for votes.

Ethanol is bad policy, and only the establishment would dare not touch it like a third rail.
