Stamps to Drop in Price

Wow, stamps dropping in price by two cents. I just bought a bunch at 49 cents.
The mail is great service for the price.  Most people wouldn't carry a note down to Shooties for fiddy cents much less deliver five states away in three days.
I always assumed fewer days were coming as I don't really get anything that important that couldn't way another day if they went to every other day service.

More people would sooner agree to deliver a letter for that price than would agree to brew beer and deliver it to you in bottles for the price you pay. My point is that, when done on a large scale, the mail delivery business is a billion dollar industry that would make much profit if it were not predominately an employment social engineering experiment.

I remember much consternation among my parents and grand parents when the price of stamps went from 3 cents to four cents. Didn't know how they could afford to mail a letter anymore...............

Of course back then $3,000-$5,000 was a good living wage, and $6,000-$7,000 per year was living in high cotton.

And now in Watertown, all you have to do is wait for a free cellphone and an affordable apartment.
