Kasich Says Rape Victims Should Drink Less....And He Said Congress Today is Young and Clueless.....All in His Watertown Visit

It may have sailed right over the heads of those there, but Governor John Kasich raised eyebrows in Watertown Friday when he responded to a college woman's concern about rape by saying she may want to avoid parties with alcohol.
The statement got lots of national attention as sexual assault on campuses is a big issue and suggesting the woman invited it by drinking is not PC.....Governor Kasich has two daughters.
That remark was, according to my sources, not the only shortcoming in the Governor's performance which was described to me as detached and disinterested in the local crowd.
Governor Kasich was recently the choice of the local GOP County Committee which voted 60-40 to back Kasich over Donald Trump.
Back to the question that sparked controversy. It is unusual someone would ask how to prevent campus rape at such a forum, but at this level you have to expect to get dinged if you suggest the victim could have prevented assault by drinking less.....The answer in total was fine till he got to that point...
Another odd comment came when the Governor.....who served in Congress years ago, made repeated remarks about today's Congress being 'young and clueless', apparently unaware our MOC is the youngest woman ever elected.

Jeff, if I didn't know any better I would think you were a hero golfer with advanced leadership training. He didn't say women should drink less, he said they should consider not attending drunk fests on campus. And "young a clueless" is not a personal swipe on anyone. It is simply a comment about inexperience. With this kind of spin, you could work for MSNBC.

Mr. Kasick certainly is right in line with the local Republican elite. Out of the loop on everything, outdated and badly in need of revamping. As far as Kasick goes just look at his votes and the rest is self explanatory..
Mr kasik has no chance to win and is only in this race to keep the elites happy. All part of the ploy to keep Trump at abay... the Republican party is gone forever

That answer is actually perfectly fine. He just had to drive it home like Trump would. Say something like, "there are some who will call it blaming the victim, but I'm telling you, if you don't get drunk, it's much harder to be raped"!

9:23 you are absolutely correct. Governor Kasich simply added a little bit of wisdom at the end of his answer. He simply suggested you should avoid gatherings where a lot of alcohol was consumed. I know, I was there. Far different than the impression one might get from Jeff's headline. C'mon Jeff, the way you rail against the MSM? I really expect better of you than that.

And 9:33, You have every right to your opinion and to voice it. But the titles "Elites", "Establishment" and "RINOS" - so commonly used now, as slurs, by people who don't know what they are talking about. Elite and establishment? in Jefferson County? Give me a break.

His comment was right on the money! Our congress is young and clueless!

9:33, the problem with your programmed response is what you fine deep thinkers are offering as alternatives. Kasich is a decent man, while your babe is a proven criminal. Your other choice is a brain dead old man who never learned anything about life and reality. The Democrat party will never be gone, as they have established a strong propaganda link between the party and people who don't work. But admit it, my good follower, what you guys are about stinks.

So, I guess Ms. Stefanik won't be supporting Kasich, clueless gal that she is? Interesting comment from the OH Gov ... kinda out of step a bit, too.

Dannie, thanks for saying exactly what we all knew you would say. The young and clueless remark was taking out of context and reports of it were dishonest. Now we see you taking the bait. Why are we not surprised, per se? As far as being in step, please consider giving up that goose step of yours. You are allowed to think independently, as it were.
