Alcohol sales on Sunday morning? State considers lifting archaic 'blue laws' | syracuse.com

We still live by the 1934 statute for alcohol.....Time to change NY......Treat Sunday like the other six days. I am pleased to hear Senator Ritchie supports it and hope others do as well.  Please don't burden us with a Sunday morning permit. Just end the distinction for one day.
Oh, I ordered a bottle of Johnny Walker Blue this week just to see how upscale you can go on Pearl Street. I'll let you know.

Nonsense. We still have problem drinking going on. Its time to write even more laws. Craft them after the ones for education and healthcare. Require at least two year education to be a bartender. And require continuing education course work to remain a certified bartender.

The least educated barkeeps in this area of the republican flavor 748.

2 years? They should at least have to get thru 6th grade so that would be 7 years total.

Great idea 7:48, but why stop there? Why not require bartender to be licensed and while we're at it require people who imbibe to be educated and licensed. You could have different grading of drinking licenses, kind of like a drivers license where you are restricted to certain classes of vehicle you can operate, your drinking license classification could limit you to beer or wine and if you want the hard stuff the qualifications would be a bit more rigorous. Stuff like a Coors lite you could probably drink on a learners permit.

Think of it, more money for the state coffers in licensing fees and the bonus of all of the new teachers that will be employed!

I'm getting all tingly just thinking about the possibilities!
