WDT: What Kind of a Place to We Live In ?

Now we have an STD task force to go with our bed bug task force.  Blight, bugs, drugs, high pregnancy among teens, tats , taxes.
This morning the lead story was about sexually transmitted diseases on the rise, and right below but still above the fold is a headline on "Winning the Battle of the Bedbugs.
Wonder what people from the outside world think of our bucolic refuge full of dirty people, needles, promiscuity, welfare, and run down buildings.
Spring is a season of renewal and revival symbolized by Easter. Can't we get more stories about the first crocus spotted in front of 260 or the first robin perched on Paddock Street ?

No! Because in their book negative sells. Positive is over looked. Glenn had a high school girl who writes books on his show during the week. You won't see her story on the front page. It's a dirty rag of a paper. I read Craig's List Rant and Raves for my local news. Less stressful.

Think you are kind of missing the point. Those items of destitution, despair and decadence aren't where we live, they are the result of who lives here now, and the society that Liberalism has brought to bear. Where we live hasn't changed, who we share our space with, Has. But hey, being a dirt bag with bad habits is protected by the constitution. It's what makes our county great. Just ask any Left-Nut when you see them dolling out your tax dollars to feed their voters.

Just a small comment about the naming of the arena.. Any person who has served their community for as many years as you did deserves some kind of recognition. I think they should consider your name as one option..
Butler will probably want to name it Coon arena and Coon will want it to be Doheny arena but I think you should be considered..

Welcome to Watertown, home of STD's, Bedbugs, heroin, crack and run down buildings. Good thing we got Jennings to help us all, and look down his stub nose at us, great job hes been doing so far!

Yep, and it all happened under your reign Jeff

Hope we don't get that sika virus in this area, the last thing we need is a bunch of small headed babies added to this mess.

Albany has its Times Union Center. Why not the Daily Times Arena? An homage to bygone days when print media mattered.

Took a ride through Brookside cemetary this morning, and was amazed with some of the monuments of local people from years past.
Being from watertown ny was something a person took great pride in years ago. Now it's kind of embarrasing.
The REAL money is gone, beautiful homes are no longer beautiful, and since the prisons and ft drum, the city has lost any real character it once had. The front page proves this. It is really, quite sad, to say the least, what happens when transients move here.

Addie will get right on it and check in with Senator Kirsten Gillibrand that wants to go between the sheets of this age group. To stop STD, now no means no maybe yes means something until a year later when they find out they have STD and they call rape. According to the rules instituted per Addie and Kiki Dee they have to sign an agreement after each step, maybe that look over in the bar or buying a drink can be construed as going too far for these modest feminist women we have today. They may have microagressions and feel their safe space has been infringed. Surely there should be an app now that just googling someones name it will bring up what STD's the interest might be carrying.

From what I hear, a good portion of the STDs come from our amatuer hockey players. Nice gateway to our city...

Just got back from Plattsburgh. I love this small city because it still has a small town charm. Watertown has become too urbanized and is overrun with drugs, crime, blight and ignorance. Steve Jennings is a lot of hot air and nothing more. We have a terrible manager, corrupt government and no vision for our future. What did we expect to happen? Wake up people........

This coming from a blog that has reported negativity since it's inception. I am sure the former city manager and many others would fine this ironic. I enjoy reading this private viewpoint from an informed person who has been in politics, but, this negativity that is being written about has certainly come from here and the many hate posters that like to crap on others that may not see their viewpoint. Reality dose.

You're wrong 8:17. You are exactly correct 8:28.

The average IQ is 100. This means the average person you will likely encounter in life will be close to that number. But wait. We all know by now that the "smart money" I.e. smart people have generally left the area and all areas of NY except NYC for warmer and more business and tax friendly clmates. This except for a small group of business people who have sentimental or family ties to the area, franchisees, plus those employees in the "system" of government which pay basically the same, regardless of your location. Actually NYC is losing people as well, but immigrants are keeping the number at even.

What does that all mean ? From experience 100 is pretty dull. Compound that with the fact that even the average person and family has left by now. This leaves us with a "new local average" . I would estimate the total average in the area is now around 90-95. So we have an average intellect of 90ish, which means that 49% of the people here now are dumber that that !

And you wonder what's gone wrong with our area, and our state ? If so, read again, more slowly.

Plattsburgh lost its air force base and flourished. Watertown kept its Army base and floundered. I still respect our service members, it is not their fault though.

what do dandy Don Alexander and Carl mclafflin say?

What a joke. Crazy Ray complaining on the hot line that Facebook pages showed council members attending the Irish festival. Hey Ray, aren't you the same guy that was so worried no one but Jeff would have time to be out and available? Don't see your worries playing out, so rest well.

What kind of place do we live in that agree that the best we can find to represent us in corrupt Albany is AJR?

Ray said...

Chill it 1.05. It was an inside joke. Nothing more. If you knew everything that went on, well I am not sure if you could handle it. Just a joke between friends.

Anonymous said...

Ray, don't be a dope. If you think you know everything that's going on you're not making the best use of that 170 IQ. Face it, you're peon level.

Ray said...

Well I had one comment and made it on the air the other day. If you didn't get it, how can I help you? Admit it, you just were not in on the joke. Sorry that twisted your under roos.😂

It's Pee-on. Dude.

I heard Ray speak. What he said wasn't off. Former Mayor made a quick in and out. Rest held onto every photo op like bears. It is a good question. Will they all be at the next Veteran Day's Parade?

Anonymous said...

Your point 1:54/Ray? Why is it important that the former mayor made a quick in/out, to begin with? He's out of office in private life, his choice.
Some complain just to complain. When we were there council members were very approachable and had good conversations. Have to say that was a good to see.

Try to be optimistic and welcome change.

This city seems to enjoy negativity. And we wonder why the population decreases. Something positive happens and immediately we hear a new complaint.

8.40 I was done back at 9.42, didn't have more. Pick your fights with others. You poked at the bear, not me. Like I said, you just can't stand the fact you were not included.

Anonymous said...

Sorry, CR, you may have been poked, but not me. Maybe the bear?
